چکیده
A 73-year-old woman presented to our institution with an abnormal shadow on chest radiography. The patient was a nonsmoker and enjoyed good past health. There were no constitutional symptoms. She was completely asymptomatic during exercise and at rest. An ECG (Figure 1) showed normal sinus rhythm. A posteroanterior view of the chest radiograph (Figure 2) showed a well-circumscribed roundish mass at the left heart border. A lateral chest radiograph (Figure 3) suggested a more anterior-located abnormality. An echocardiogram was performed to delineate the relationship of the mass and the adjacent cardiac structure. It showed a large vascular structure anterior to the main pulmonary artery and continuous flow from the mass to the main pulmonary artery. Because the pulmonary artery vessel wall was clearly defined, the mass was unlikely to originate from the pulmonary artery per se. Differential diagnosis included coronary artery aneurysm or arteriovenous malformation (online-only Data Supplement Movies I and II). Left

An unusual image of Vieussens’ arterial ring communicating with the pulmonary artery
Vieussens’ arterial ring (VAR) is a collateral pathway between the conus branches of the right and left coronary arteries that was first described by French anatomist Raymond de Vieussens. VAR’s are observed in 48% of the population; however, pathologic VAR is very rare. A 58 year-old male patient with a history of smoking and positive family history was admitted to our clinic complaining of ch...
متن کاملComparison of computerized digital and analog radiography for detection of bronchial pattern in dogs
Background: Analog radiography has been replaced with digital radiography for canine diagnostic imaging in many veterinary clinics. There is no data comparing these modalities in a veterinary clinical setting to detect bronchial pattern signs in dogs. Objectives: In this study, computerized digital radiography (CR) and analog radiography were compared for diagnosis of bronchial pattern in dogs....
متن کاملEarly detection of intravascular large B-cell lymphoma by 18FDG-PET/CT with diffuse FDG uptake in the lung without respiratory symptoms or chest CT abnormalities
Intravascular large B-cell lymphoma (IVLBCL) is a rare and aggressive subtype of systemic extranodal non-Hodgkin diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). We report a rare case of IVLBCL who showed diffuse 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) uptake in the lung in FDG-positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) without respiratory symptoms or chest CT abnormalities. Serum biochemical studies...
متن کاملEndobronchial Tuberculosis and Chest Radiography
Endobronchial tuberculosis and chest radiography I read, with interest, the article entitled “Clinical and Para-clinical Presentations of Endobronchial Tuberculosis” by Ahmadi Hoseini H. S. et al. (1) published in this journal. I would like to focus on some details about the chest X-ray of patients as elaborated by the authors in the results section. Accordingly, the findings of chest radiograp...
متن کاملA multi-scale convolutional neural network for automatic cloud and cloud shadow detection from Gaofen-1 images
The reconstruction of the information contaminated by cloud and cloud shadow is an important step in pre-processing of high-resolution satellite images. The cloud and cloud shadow automatic segmentation could be the first step in the process of reconstructing the information contaminated by cloud and cloud shadow. This stage is a remarkable challenge due to the relatively inefficient performanc...
